IMPACT 2019
Putting Obedience to Christ in Action
IMPACT 2019 is an intentional effort by our church family to put obedience to Christ in action that we have seen unfolded in the Word of God.
There are 4 components…
(1) GATHER Together | Worship & Biblical Community
The church has always gathered for two reasons – corporate worship and genuine fellowship. Gathering for worship nurtures our relationship with God as we glorify Him and hear from His word. Gathering for fellowship in biblical community connects us with each other for encouragement and partnership in the gospel.
WORSHIP | Gather with us for worship each Sunday @ 10:45a as we exalt the glory of Christ, enjoy the grace of Christ and extend the gospel of Christ.
BIBLICAL COMMUNITY | Gather for biblical community each week through Sunday School @ 9:45a or Off-Campus Small Groups that meet throughout the week. A list of small groups for Spring 2019 semester will be published soon!
(2) GROW Together | Daily Bible Reading & Prayer
Spiritual growth is an expectation of following Christ. Two of the most powerful ways God grows us is through time with Him daily in His Word and through prayer.
BIBLE READING | Studies show that the life of someone who engages scripture four or more times a week looks radically different from the life of someone who does not. In reality, the lives of Christians who do not engage the Bible most days of the week are statistically the same as the lives of non-believers. If we want our lives and this church to impact others, then we must be people of the Book.
We are committing in 2019 to read through the Word as a church. Our desire in this is not just to know more about God, but to actually know Him more deeply, love Him more passionately and obey Him more completely. So we as a faith family are reading the Bible together—as individuals, as families and as a faith family.
We are utilizing the two year Robert Murray McCheyne’s Yearly Bible Reading plan, which has us reading two chapters a day together. You will find daily devotionals matching these readings in D.A. Carson’s For the Love of God: A Daily Companion for Discovering the Riches of God’s Word, Volume One. This Bible reading plan is adapted from one compiled by Scottish preacher Robert Murray M’Cheyne (1813-1843).

PRAYER | Each Wednesday at 6:30pm we gather together to pray. This time has become an engine for all that God is doing in and through our church. As a church we unite our hearts and cry out in desperation to our God on behalf of our church, our community and the nations. Join us each week and receive a prayer guide to assist you in your time of communion with God.
(3) GIVE Together | Financially & Through Serving
Jesus made it clear, “It is more blessed to give than receive.” We want to commit to give in two ways in 2019 as Christ followers at the Branch.
FINANCIALLY | Much of what Jesus taught related to money and possessions. Our Lord made more reference to money and possessions than to either prayer or faith. He spoke about money and possessions more than heaven and hell combined. Why? Because the Scriptures make clear there is a fundamental connection between a person’s spiritual life and his attitudes and actions concerning money and possessions. Our desire is for the blessings God has entrusted to us to flow through us, resulting in more treasures beings stored up in eternity . Therefore, we are committing to sacrificially and cheerfully give financially (our tithes and offerings) as stewards of what God has so graciously blessed us with in our life.
You can give during our regular offering time each week in worship gatherings, each weekday at the church office or now you can give online HERE.
SERVING | We give of our time as servants by doing ministry side by side. Whether it is greeting guests each Sunday AM, rocking precious babies in the preschool nursery or visiting shut-ins, there are many available ways for us to serve others in 2019. “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matt20:28), we desire as a church to reflect this glorious truth as we serve others in and through this church in 2019.
(4) GO Together | Locally and Globally
The gospel is not a “come see” religion – it is a “go tell” message of redemption! Our mission is to make disciples, and to do so from our neighborhood to all nations. Disciple-making at its core is seeing those far from God brought near to Him. It is not a duty of ours to tell others about Jesus … it is our delight!
LOCALLY | As a church we are focused on developing each member and sending them out into our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The greatest ministry potential does not lie inside a church building on Sundays, rather outside the church in the community throughout the week as we seek to serve others. In 2019 we want to go locally, blessing many in our community and communicating to them that which is the power of God to salvation, the gospel.
GLOBALLY | We want to have the heart of God and God’s heart is a global heart. Yes, we desire for the mercy and grace of God to rain down on Brunswick County, but we also desire for His mercy and grace to flood the mega cities of Asia, the post-christian areas of Europe, the developing parts of Africa, and, in particularly, throughout the more than 4,000 unreached people groups of our world. So as a church we will pray for the nations, give to the nations and go to the nations, joining many others in seeing the gospel advanced to the ends of the earth.
